Preliminary Studies
>Project Introduction
Individual students were tasked with studying the site of Kawasan 1, Klang. Students would choose one aspect of Kevin Lynch's urban theory: morphological, social, functional & temporal, and conduct a preliminary site study based on those aspects, analysing and interpreting that aspect in the form of Lynchian elements such as path, edge, district, node, and landmark. This study would then be used to formulate the final design.

From the macro-site of Klang itself, two microsites were provided to choose from: site A & site B, of which students would choose 1 as the site for their design.

I chose to study the site in terms of morphological aspect, and chose site B as my design proposal site.
>Design Statement
As a final conclusion to the preliminary studies, students were asked to formulate a central design idea in the form of design statement and issues & inspirations. I chose to tackle the design concept of informality, following the informal morphology on the site.
