Human-Space-Climate
>Project Introduction
Students were tasked with analysing their own surroundings within their own homes/hostels, including factors such as temperature, local weather, etc. in order to determine whether their building fits within thermal comfort range standards.
>Reflection
This assignment was quite difficult to do properly and accurately, due to the lack of proper equipment, however, it was very insightful in providing us as students a good idea of what to analyse when it comes to space and thermal comfort. This project was very useful in introducing these concepts to me and was definitely valuable for me as a student to use in my future projects.
Research Essay
>Project Introduction
Students were tasked with writing up a research paper on a chosen passive building design strategy. Our group chose the topic of "Extensive Green Roofs" and focused mostly on local tropical climate types due to them being the most relevant to us as Malaysian architecture students.
>Reflection
This research paper project was very interesting to me and my group as it exposed us to a high depth of information on the subjects we were researching (Extensive Green Roofs), and opened our eyes to the multi-faceted nature of passive building design. This assignment gave us a newfound, deep knowledge into the topic of green roofs which we previously thought was very simple, but in reality is highly complex.
