Construction detailing
>Project Introduction
In project 2, the task as a group was to come up with a set of construction and detail drawings as well as a physical model of a small house, all done to scale. The new inclusion of construction detailing made the task more difficult, as we were now required to research precise specifications for material and construction writings as in real-world industry technical drawings. All drawings were done on 2 A2-sized tracing paper
>Drawings
For board one, drawings of basic plans and elevations were done, with construction information writings and labels on the sides while board two contains all detail drawings such as those of roof and floor details, as per requirement.
>Model
As our chosen material was timber and concrete, the model was done in balsa wood and greyboard materials to reflect them respectively. The model includes wall and roof detailing for timber structures.
>Reflection
Uniquely, the main focus of this task shifted away from the technical drawings themselves to the accuracy of detail writings and material research. This taught us as a group the importance and extent of construction details in real-life projects.
